Sika Corporation introduces light weight low temperature structural reinforcer

MADISON HEIGHTS, MICH. – Sika Corporation, premier supplier of innovative acoustic, bonding, reinforcing, and sealing solutions is proud to announce the introduction of its next generation SikaReinforcer technology.  This injection moldable, light weight material features improved performance at low bake temperatures while maintaining the same quality, reliability, durability, and safety requirements as the current SikaReinforcer family of technologies.

This low temperature, high expansion SikaReinforcer® material group is within the Sika patented family of reinforcing products.  SikaReinforcer® is a heat reactive material formulated to provide rigidity and increased strength to hollow body cavities such as frame rails and body pillars.  SikaReinforcer® products can also be used to increase a vehicle’s torsional stiffness and bending resistance as well as to reduce compression deflection under load. In addition to its improved durability and crash / crush resistance, SikaReinforcer® can be used to reduce structural noise, vibration, squeak and rattle concerns as well as fatigue issues. “We are excited about the introduction of this new robust, high performance SikaReinforcer technology which fulfills OEM requirements for a low bake temperature material” said Dave Jones, Senior Vice President, Sika Automotive. “It complements Sika’s comprehensive Body in White product range to include this new reinforcing technology that meets the Federal crash performance requirements while offering the ability to reduce weight”.
