GETTING EVERYONE INVOLVED IN SAFETY
At Sika, we continuously strive to improve all facets of safety for everyone. Sika has thus implemented a company wide program called Sika SAFE. The basic goal of Sika SAFE program is to engage all employees on all levels into having an active participation in all aspects of safety.
Through this initiative the many varied areas of safety are brought to the individuals that can help to best identify potential safety hazards and mark corrections. This allows each employee a chance to contribute their voice and their ideas into resolving any potential safety concerns.
At each facility a safety steering committee and sub-committees are formed to focus on specific target areas of safety. As issues are identified a committee is put together to formulate a solution.
New walkways help to promote safety for the foot traffic of employees and visitors as they move about the busy warehouse and product areas.
Our safety committee teams resolve issues with older guard rail systems in any Sika warehouse that need upgrading. New guard rails provide a better measure of safety both visually and mechanically.
Safety sub-committees keep up on housekeeping. Creating a "clean green board" project that was installed in multiple locations in both warehouse and production facilities. These 5S shadow boards provide quick easy access to a variety of cleaning tools. Having the needed tools readily available to quickly resolve any slip, trip or fall situation.
