Brian J. Whelan

Brian has been employed by Sarnafil Inc. and now Sika, for 39 years and is currently the Executive Vice President of the Business Unit Roofing and Flooring. He is a graduate of Harvard University’s Business School PMD Program and has a degree in Architectural Technology.
He was the Chairman of the Center of Environmental Innovation in Roofing. He was one of the original members of Single Ply Roofing Institute (SPRI), later becoming a member of its Board of Directors and Chairman of its Thermoplastic subcommittee. Today he is a Board Member of the RCI Foundation. He was an original Board of Director for RICOWI, the Roofing Industry Committee on Wind Issues. He jointly owns three patents on hot air welding of thermoplastic membranes and profiles.
Brian has participated in various committees for NRCA, most recently the Industry Advisory Council, and Global Strategy Committee. He was on the original Steering Committee for PCCRS (Performance Criteria for Constructed Roof Systems).
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, TECHNICAL SERVICES
Stan is the Senior Vice President, Technical Services, Sika Corporation – Roofing, Canton, MA. He has worked in the roofing industry for more than 35 years in various technical, sales, and management capacities in Canada, Switzerland, and the USA. He has participated in technical committees and standards writing bodies in North America and Europe.
He has written numerous articles and papers and is a speaker at various national and international symposiums and other industry events on roofing and sustainability topics. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemical Engineering) degree from the University of Ottawa and a Masters of Business Administration from the International Institute for Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland. Stan is currently the Chairman of the Vinyl Sustainability Council, Member of the Technical Committee of the Chemical Fabric and Film Association, Member of IIBEC, and Member of ASTM International from whom he received the William C. Cullen Award in 2011 for his contributions to the betterment of the roofing industry, most notably with regards to his sustainability initiatives.

Joe Schwetz is the Vice President of Technical Service for Sika Sarnafil, a division of Sika Corp., Canton MA. He has a degree in architectural engineering from SUNY. He has worked in the roofing industry for over 35 years in various research and development, technical, and managerial capacities. He is active in various technical standards and code development bodies, including SPRI and SIGDERS. He co-chairs ASTM sub-committee D08.18 Polymeric Roofing Materials and he is the task group chair for PVC Roofing and several D08.24 Roofing Sustainability task groups. He was the membership secretary for ASTM E60 - Sustainability and is active in numerous ASTM committees. He received the ASTM Award of Merit in 2015.

John Robinson has been with Sika Sarnafil for over 22 years. He currently holds the position of Education/Waterproofing Sales Specialist for the Southern Region. John has over 35 years of experience in the roofing and waterproofing industry and has held sales and technical positions with both national and regional firms. He is also one of the first Accredited Green Roof Professionals in the US. John is also an active member in many organizations including RCI, CSI, A4LE, and has served as President of the Atlanta Chapter CSI and for the Southern Region of CSI.
