SikaSeal®-148 Insulation Seam Tape is a clear film, acrylic adhesive tape used for various building envelope applications.

  • Clear in appearance to visually see the seam or overlap

  • UV resistant for outdoor installations
  • Won't lift once placed on a clean, dust-free, dry surface
  • Mold and moisture resistant
  • Performs well in low or high ambient and substrate temperature conditions

Usage

  • Sealing seam joints and overlaps of house wraps
  • Sealing seam joints and overlaps of interior/exterior vapor barriers
  • Sealing exterior wall sheathing joints
  • Sealing joints or seams between extruded foam insulation board products
  • Sealing window and door flanges or frames
  • Patching minor damage caused to wall sheathing and house wrap system

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces that tape will be applied to should be sufficiently cured and free of moisture, frost, oils, dust, dirt and other debris or contaminants that could inhibit adhesion. Any necessary cleaning agents used should be completely removed and/or rinsed off surfaces and allowed to thoroughly dry. No residues of cleaning agents should be present at time of tape installation. Any wet method of surface preparation must be allowed to thoroughly dry. Clean surfaces with a dry cloth as necessary.
