Nexus Health, a 95,000-square-foot medical office building and cancer care center in Santa Fe, New Mexico, showcases how Prefab Panelization EIFS can accelerate delivery while meeting ambitious design and performance goals. With a mission to provide affordable, comprehensive care for Northern New Mexico, the project required both cost efficiency and rapid construction to bring critical medical services to the region quickly. The exterior facade design is a combination of EIFS and ACM within the same panel and allows for the integration of punched aluminum windows into prefabricated panels. This enabled the team to streamline the exterior envelope while achieving the warm colors and textures characteristic of Santa Fe’s Pueblo-Spanish and Territorial architectural styles. The controlled off‑site manufacturing process ensured consistent, high‑quality finishes and allowed the construction schedule to advance even during colder months, preserving theproject’s targeted speed to market.
The success of the Nexus Health exterior was rooted in early collaboration among the design team, panelizers, and contractors, enabling careful coordination of complex system transitions such as the EIFS fluid‑applied air/water barrier to the ACM peel‑and‑stick membrane. The prefabricated panels, measuring 36 feet tall to span two floors and the parapet, were produced with three and a half inches of EPS insulation to meet stringent energy efficiency requirements while minimizing on‑site labor needs. Together, these advantages highlight the strength of Prefab Panelization EIFS as a high‑performance, cost‑effective solution for healthcare construction where schedule certainty and architectural authenticity are paramount.
