SikaWall®-1000 MaxGrip Veneer Adhesive

High-strength specially formulated setting bed mortar

Dry-mix polymer-modified setting bed mortar that contains Portland cement.

Usage

For use to adhere thin brick veneer, natural and manufactured stone, and tile with Sika Facades adhered CI drainage systems, non insulated stucco and cement board systems. Approved over Sika Facades air/water-resistive barriers on masonry units and concrete. Note: Use only for above grade vertical walls. Not for use below grade or on surfaces subject to continuous or intermittent immersion in water or hydrostatic pressure.

Shelf Life

One (1) year when unopened and stored as directed.

Storage Conditions

  • Store materials in a cool, dry place. Protect from extreme heat and direct sunlight.
  • Protect bagged materials from moisture during transportation and storage.
  • Protect materials during transportation to avoid physical damage.
  • Do not stack pallets.

Application

Application Information

Substrates

  • Portland Cement Plaster (Stucco) scratch or brown coat complying with ASTMC 926
  • PermaBase® Cement Board and other cement boards conforming with ASTM C1325 (Type A - exterior)
  • Poured and precast concrete/unit masonry coated with Sika Facades air/water-resisitve barrier
  • Poured and precast concrete/unit masonry coated with Sika ThoroSeal 581

Pot Life

Working time is 1-2 hours after water has been added. Open time is affected by humidity,  temperature, and other environmental conditions.

Cure Time

  • Allow veneer adhesive to cure for 24-hours before applying pointing mortar (if used).
  • Protect from freezing for minimum of 72-hours after installation.
  • Do not apply if rain is forecast within the next 24-hours.

As Skim Coat: 90 ft2 (8.4m2)
Think Brick Adhesive: 34-46 ft2 (3.1-4.3m2) at 3/16"-1/4"
Stone Adhesive: 23-34 ft2 (2.1-3.1m2) at 1/4"-3/8"
