Baptist Health Care (BHC) and Catalyst Healthcare Real Estate (Catalyst) have collaborated on the construction of a new Medical Office Building located on the Baptist Hospital campus. The building features an exterior clad in Senergy Channeled Adhesive CI Design, an Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) chosen to complement the architectural aesthetics of the main hospital building, which utilizes precast concrete with integral color. This innovative design solution allowed the project to achieve visual harmony with the campus while leveraging the benefits of a more cost-effective and energy-efficient material. By using Drainage EIFS, the designers could replicate the high-end appearance of precast panels, meeting stringent design requirements without compromising quality or exceeding budget constraints.
The use of EPS (expanded polystyrene) in the wall system enabled the creation of intricate grooves and complex shapes, closely mimicking the look of the precast concrete on the main hospital. Unlike traditional stucco, EPS provided the flexibility needed to achieve these precise design elements. In addition to its aesthetic benefits, the Senergy Channeled Adhesive CI Design EIFS offers continuous insulation (CI), significantly enhancing the building's energy efficiency. This thoughtful integration of form and function demonstrates the collaborative effort between BHC and Catalyst to deliver a visually cohesive and sustainable addition to the Baptist Hospital campus.
