Located in Kennewick’s growing Southridge district, this 133,000‑square‑foot mixed‑use development spans 3.5 acres and includes three buildings featuring residential units, street‑level retail, and storage spaces. Approximately 96,000 square feet of the exterior is finished with Parex EIFS, selected after the project team transitioned from the originally specified siding. The switch to EIFS allowed the contractor to meet updated energy‑code requirements more efficiently by incorporating 2½ inches of EPS insulation directly into the cladding system. This approach not only satisfied the need for continuous exterior insulation but also offered greater design flexibilityfor the varied building elevations.
Using a Parex EIFS with drainage system provided a fully integrated solution that combines heat, air, and moisture control in one seamless, durable assembly to deliver long‑term performance and reduced maintenance. The system’s ability to address insulation demands, enhance energy efficiency, and streamline construction made it a practical and high‑value choice for the development.
