The owner and architect of this project wanted a single-sourced and warranted air and weather barrier, and a cost-effective way to integrate a continuously insulated exterior. Initial plans called for masonry stone veneer and insulated metal panels on most of the project’s exterior. Due to supply chain difficulties and the high cost of metal panels, a change was made. EIFS were used in lieu of metal panels over 22,000 square feet of the façade. Elsewhere on the building, nearly 7,000 lineal feet of horizontal and vertical reveals simulated the look of metal panels. Additionally, 22,000 sq. ft of a masonry veneer continuous insulation system was installed.
The project was recognized with an 2021 Award of Merit in the Healthcare category by EIMA EIFS Architectural Awards.
