The Broad Museum in Los Angeles stands as a bold architectural statement within the city’s Cultural District, celebrated for its innovative design and commitment to sustainability. Spanning 120,000 square feet and achieving LEED Gold certification, The Broad features a striking honeycomb-like façade known as "the veil." This unique exterior not only defines its visual identity but also floods the interior with natural light, creating an ideal environment for showcasing art while reducing the building’s energy consumption.
To realize this ambitious design, Parex systems played a key role in ensuring both form and function. Parex EIFS provided the necessary flexibility to achieve the intricate geometric patterns of the façade while maintaining superior performance. The system’s continuous insulation and air barrier contributed to the museum’s energy efficiency, aligning with its LEED Gold objectives. The result is an exterior that balances innovation, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal, solidifying The Broad as an architectural and cultural icon.
