PAREX® Elastomeric Finish
PAREX® Elastomeric Finish is a 100% acrylic-based elastomeric textured finish with DPR (Dirt Pick-up Resistance) chemistry. It is highly flexible: Can bridge preexisting or existing hairline cracks and is integrally colored with high quality pigments.
- Bridges hairline cracks smaller than 1/32ʺ
- 100% acrylic polymer-based chemistry; provides longterm durability and weather resistance
- Resists water and wind-driven rain while remaining vapor-permeable, allowing the passage of water vapor. This reduces the potential risk of blistering, peeling or flaking
- Dirt pickup resistant
Usage
Exterior finish coat over:- Parex CI Systems & Armourwall Stucco Systems.
- New or existing stucco and concrete surfaces.
- Renovation of old stucco and concrete walls.
- Finishing of masonry walls in combination with any Parex 121 Basecoat & Adhesive as leveler.

Application
Cure Time
Under average conditions 70°F (21°C), 50% relative humidity, Finish will be dry within 24 hours. Drying time is dependent on humidity, air temperature, sun exposure, surface conditions and finish thickness. Lower temperature, higher humidity and application in shaded areas will extend drying time.
▪ Protect finish from rain or other precipitation and temperatures less than 40°F (4.5°C) for a minimum of 24 hours and until dry. Do not apply over damp surfaces or during rain, or snow events or if rain, or snow is imminent.
Coverage
Swirl Fine: 160-170 ft2 (14.8-15.8 m2)
Sand Fine: 190-200 ft2 (17.6-18.6 m2)
Sand Coarse: 140-150 ft2 (13-13.9 m2)
Smooth: Skip Trowel Technique 180-190 ft2 (16.7-17.6 m2)
Smooth: 300-350 ft2 (27.9 to 32.5 m2) per coat, minimum 2 coats
NOTE: Application over brown coat, will require approximately 10-15% more material.
Coverage rates may vary depending on the coating texture, porosity of substrate and application techniques
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Substrates must be clean, dry, sound and free of loose material, releasing agents, paint, efflorescence, contaminants and other coatings.
SikaWall-10 Tinted Primer or SikaWall-15 Stucco Prime can improve color uniformity and have a negligible effect on adhesion. Verify substrate is flat, free of fins or planar irregularities greater than 1/4” in 10’ (6.4 mm in 3 m). Cracks greater than 1/32ʺ (0.8 mm) must be pre-sealed. Fill cracks or voids with an appropriate, compatible material to provide a solid substrate prior to the application of finish. Ensure patching material and/or primer is dry prior to application of finish.
- Swirl Fine Texture: In order to minimize the possibility of substrate read-through with white color White Base, we recommend the use of SikaWall Tinted Primer or Stucco Prime.
- Concrete: allow to cure a minimum of 28 days prior to application of primer or finish.
- Concrete Masonry: allow concrete masonry to fully cure prior to application of primer or finish. When needed, apply a leveling coat of Sika Facades high build base coat to provide a smooth surface and minimize the likelihood of mortar joint readthrough prior to application of finish. Avoid application over wet concrete masonry or uncured mortar joint material.
- Stucco: allow to cure a minimum of 7 days prior to application of primer or finish.
MIXING
- Thoroughly mix finish to a uniform workable consistency. A small amount of clean potable water may be added to adjust workability. Do not exceed 10 oz. of water per 5-gallon pail.
- Additives are not permitted.
- Close container when not in use.
- Clean tools with soap and water immediately after use. Dried material can only be removed mechanically.
APPLICATION
Sand Fine, Swirl Fine, Sand Coarse Textures
- Apply finish directly to the substrate (or primed substrate) with a clean, stainless steel trowel. Apply and level finish during the same operation to a minimum obtainable thickness consistent with uniform coverage.
- Maintain a wet edge on finish by applying and texturing continually over the wall surface. Work finish to corners, joints or other natural breaks and do not allow material to set up within an uninterrupted wall area. Float finish to achieve final texture.
Smooth Texture
- For smooth application: allow the first coat of finish to dry prior to applying a second coat. 2 coats are required for a smooth texture.
- For free-formed application including stipple and skip trowel, maximum thickness not to exceed 1/8" (3.2mm).
