PAREX® Aquasol™ Enhanced Acrylic Finish
PAREX® Aquasol™ Enhanced Acrylic Finish is a line of modified acrylic textured finishes designed to provide enhanced water repellency and resistance to environmental soiling. These finishes have hydrophobic characteristics helping to reduce water absorption and accumulation of dirt and debris, and increased resistance to mold and mildew. When rainwater contacts the surface, it may bead and assist in removing dirt, soil and debris. The finish is designed to resist staining and surface dirt, which can contribute to reduced maintenance frequency and sustained aesthetic appearance over time.
- Water repellency improves ease of cleaning
- Enhanced mold and mildew resistance.
- Resists dirt pick up and soiling.
- UV resistant, resists fading.
- Modified acrylic polymer-based chemistry, providing long-term durability and weather resistance.
- Vapor permeable.
- Water-based and low VOC making it safer for workers and the environment.
- Factory mixed; ready to use, no additives needed.
Usage
PAREX® Aquasol™ Enhanced Acrylic Finish finishes enhance the protection of buildings for an aesthetically pleasing surface color and texture for Sika Wall Systems, poured concrete or unit masonry, conventional stucco and properly prepared insulating concrete forms.Advantages

- EIFS
- Stucco
- Acrylic, Hydrophobic and Cementicious Textured Finish
- Unit Masonry
- Concrete
Drying Time
Under average conditions [70°F (21°C), 50% Relative Humidity] finish will be dry within 24 hours. Drying time is dependent on humidity, air
temperature, sun exposure, surface conditions and finish thickness. Lower temperature, higher humidity and application in shaded areas will extend drying time. Protect finish from rain or other precipitation and temperatures less than 40°F (4°C) for a minimum of 24 hours and until dry.
Coverage
Sand Smooth: - 400 ft2 (37 m2)
- Skip Trowel - 170 ft2 (15.8 m2)
Sand Fine: 160 ft2 (14.9 m2)
Sand Coarse: 130 ft2 (12 m2)
Swirl Fine: 130 ft2 (12 m2)
* Coverage rates vary depending on porosity of substrates and application techniques.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Substrates must be clean, dry, sound and free of loose material, releasing agents, paint, efflorescence, contaminants and other coatings.
Use of SikaWall-15 Tinted Primer or SikaWall-10 Stucco Prime can improve color uniformity by minimizing substrate read-through in light colors, not used for adhesion assistance.
- Concrete: allow to cure a minimum of 28 days prior to application of Parex primer or finish.
- Unit Masonry: allow to cure prior to application of Parex primer or finish permitted.
- Stucco: allow to cure a minimum of 6 days prior to application of Parex primer or finish.
MIXING
Thoroughly mix the factory prepared finish with a paddle and low speed drill to a uniform workable consistency. A thick consistency is desired; however, a small amount of clean potable water may be added to adjust workability. Do not exceed 10 oz. of water per 5-gallon pail.
- Additives are not permitted.
- Close container when not in use.
- Clean tools with soap and water immediately after use. Dried material can only be removed mechanically.
APPLICATION
- Apply PAREX® Aquasol™ Enhanced Acrylic Finish directly to the substrate or primed substrate with a clean, stainless steel trowel.
- Apply and level finish during the same operation to minimum obtainable thickness consistent with uniform coverage.
- Maintain a wet edge on finish by applying and texturing continually over the wall surface. Work finish to corner, joints or other natural breaks and do not allow material to set up within an uninterrupted wall area.
- Float finish to achieve final texture.
CLEANING
Clean coating with water only. The use of detergents or soaps will degrade the hydrophobic effect. After detergent cleaning, the hydrophobic effect will reactivate in approximately 30 days time, depending on exposure conditions.
