SikaBiresin® AP014

SikaBiresin® AP014 is a fast-setting, versatile, polyester-based industrial filler paste. It is specifically formulated for filling, fairing, and repair applications and can be used in service temperatures up to 285°F (140°C). SikaBiresin® AP014 bonds readily to itself and exhibits good adhesion to Fiberglass, SMC, RIM, BMC, graphite, Kevlar®, aluminum, steel, grey iron, copper, plaster, models, patterns, and other substrates. Once cured, it forms a rigid, strong surface which can be machined, sanded, filed or scraped to a feathered edge. SikaBiresin® AP014 accepts virtually all types of coatings and decorative film without any blush or discoloration. In its mixed, uncured state, SikaBiresin® AP014 has a smooth, creamy consistency that enables the user to make quick repairs with minimal air entrapment.

Usage

SikaBiresin® AP014 is suitable for filling, fairing, and repair applications in a wide range of industries. Typical applications include filling composites surface porosity, honeycomb panel edge filler, vacuum mold repair and modifications, urethane mold repairs and modifications, FRP composite repairs, pattern repairs and fillets, core box repairs and modifications, void and porosity filling, crevice repair, temporary holding fixtures, non-conductive barrier potting, bonding inserts/hangers, urethane part repair, potting stripped threads, renewing worn surfaces and many others.

Tests with actual materials and conditions have to be performed to ensure satisfactory performance.
