Sika® MultiSeal-505

Sika® MultiSeal-505 is a prefabricated self-adhering sheet-type waterproofing membrane 

Sika® MultiSeal-505 is a prefabricated self-adhering sheet-type waterproofing membrane. It is composed of a high-tensile polyester film that is coated with a layer of specially formulated rubberized asphalt adhesive. A release sheet protects the asphalt and is removed as the membrane is installed. Sika® MultiSeal-505 is engineered to be a multi-purpose waterproofing sheet suitable for use under siding and exterior plaster. Sika® MultiSeal-505 adheres aggressively to most clean, dry substrates including metal, wood vinyl and masonry. The special Sika® MultiSeal-505 polymer modified waterproofing compound self-seals around punctures such as nails, screws and staples. This advanced system bonds to the substrate and seals around fasteners to help prevent damage caused by water penetration.

  • Underlayment for stucco at head, sill, chimney shoulder, pot shelves, parapets, pony walls and other general waterproofing applications
  • Thru-wall flashing in cavity wall construction

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

▪ Apply in clear, dry weather

▪ Surface must be clean, dry and free from oil

▪ Masonry must be clean, fully cured and primed with an asphalt primer

▪ Prime weathered surfaces as necessary – clean, dry, wood and metal surfaces do not require priming
