Sika Thorocoat®-100 Primer

18 months when properly stored

Store in unopened containers in a clean, dry area between 35 and 110° F (2 and 43° C). Keep from freezing.

• Times assume 70° F (21° C) and 50% relative humidity.
• To recoat: 2-4 hours
• Lower surface or air temperatures and higher relative humidity will extend the drying time.

300–375 sq.ft/gallon (7.5 – 10 m²/L). Coverage will vary depending on substrate texture and porosity.

• Do not apply when the temperature (substrate or ambient) is 40° F (4° C) or below or is expected to fall below 40° F (4° C) within 24 hours after application.
• Do not apply if rain is expected within 6 hours.
• Do not thin.
• Do not use it as a primer for solvent-based coatings.
• Do not use it as an admixture.
• Sika Thorocoat®-100 Primer can consolidate a slightly weak or dusting surface. It is not intended to restore weak substrates to full service.

1. Surfaces should be clean, sound, and free of all bond-inhibiting contaminants.
2. Concrete substrates should be fully cured.
3. Point or seal all cracks or voids.

Prior to use, mix at slow speed with drill and mixing paddle to ensure uniform color disbursement and to minimize air entrapment.

Roller and Brush Application

1. Apply Sika Thorocoat®-100 Primer by brush or 1/2” (12 mm) nap roller.
2. Work material uniformly onto the wall, always maintaining a wet edge.
3. Apply evenly over the entire surface, producing a uniform film. Do not overwork the material.
4. Allow Sika Thorocoat®-100 Primer to completely dry before top coating with the selected Sika Thorocoat® acrylic coating.

Spray Application

1. Apply Sika Thorocoat®-100 Primer with the appropriate spray equipment. Contact the equipment manufacturer for further recommendations.
2. Apply in one continuous application over the entire surface, producing an even, uniform film.
3. Maintain a wet edge during application.
4. Backrolling may be required.

Clean all tools and equipment with warm soapy water immediately after use. Cured material may be removed by mechanical means.
