Sikadur®-6000 UW

(formerly MBrace 6000UW)

EPOXY GROUT FOR USE WITH THE ADVANCED PILE ENCAPSULATION SYSTEM

Sikadur®-6000 UWis an aggregate-filled epoxy system specially designed for placement by a plural component method, both above and below the waterline. Sikadur®-6000 UW is used with the Advance Pile Encapsulation process and other applications where epoxy must be placed in relatively large volumes.

  • Marine-grade epoxy Bonds underwater (seawater or fresh) to wood, concrete, or steel.
  • High flow, self-leveling formulation allows the material to be pumped, minimizing handling and clean-up.
  • Utilized with FRP jackets and forms to encapsulate structures and/or restore section loss.

1:1, Part A (hardener) to Part B (resin)

3.38:1 Part C (aggregate) to Parts A and B  (mixed binder) for pumpable grout, ratio may vary for other applications

Pot Life

Mixing and Handling Time:

Consumption

Coverage

One five-gallon (19 L) unit of Component A plus Component B, when mixed with six 50 lb (22.7 kg) bags of Component C, yields approximately 3.18 cu ft (0.09 m3).

APPLICATION

Methods of surface preparation, application  and handling will vary due to the broad scope  of specialized applications. Most applications  will require removal of marine growth and cleaning of rust and scale. For information on estimating, application, pump equipment, and further recommendations, contact your Sika representative. 

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Mixed epoxy is much easier to clean up before it hardens-solvents such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) and toluene may be used. Commercial epoxy strippers are recommended for hardened epoxy. Consult solvent manufacturer’s usage recommendation.
