SCOFIELD® SelectSeal™ Plus

SCOFIELD® SelectSeal™ Plus can be used to make floors that exceed the Underwriters Laboratories Safety Standard UL 410, "Slip Resistance of Floor Surface Materials."

Meets the moisture retention requirements of ASTM C309 Standard Specification for Liquid Membrane-Forming Compounds for Curing Concrete.

Store at 40°F to 120°F (4°C - 49°C). Do not freeze.

Dry times will depend upon the selected coverage rate, and penetration into the substrate. At 70°F (21°C) and 50 % relative humidity with an application rate of 400 sq. ft. per gallon (10 m2/L), dry to touch and recoat times of 1–2 hours are expected. Avoid foot-traffic for a minimum of 12 hours, and hard wheel traffic for 72 hours after final application.

Coverage will depend upon thinning, method of application, surface porosity, and the texture of the substrate. Full strength prime-coat coverage on flat finished concrete is typically 300–400 sq. ft./gal. (7.4–9.8 sq. m/L), and will yield a dry film thickness of 1.3–1.1 mils. Thinned with 1 pint of water per gallon, prime coat coverage is typically 450 sq. ft./gal., and will yield a dry film thickness of 0.85 mils. Porous, broom or textured finishes will require more sealer. As a topcoat or for second coat application, coverage of 600–800 sq. ft./gal. (14.8–19.6 sq. m/L) is typical.

Apply SCOFIELD® Selectseal™ Plus by brush, roller, HVLP sprayer, airless sprayer, or pump-spray/back-roll application.

Spray Applicator Guidelines:

SCOFIELD® Selectseal™ Plus is iridescent white and will look like a heavy cream. Mix until it is of uniform consistency and appearance prior to use. If tinting, add tint material and mix again until uniform. To increase penetration into acid stained or sandblasted concrete, SCOFIELD® Selectseal™ Plus may be thinned with up to 1 pint of water per gallon of material.

Mask all areas not to be coated to safeguard against splashes, overspray, and runoff from application. Wear all required safety equipment. Take care not to allow tape adhesive to interfere with surfaces to be coated. Product may appear lighter in color until dry.

Distribute product with a pump garden sprayer fitted with a conical tip, followed by back rolling with a quality 3/8" knap roller. Roll in multiple directions to ensure product penetrates into concrete cracks, joints, and pores. Take care not to create lap marks as they cannot be removed once the product has dried. Dried material will be difficult to remove. Remove overspray immediately with hot water and detergent.

Clean equipment with warm water and detergent immediately after application.
