Sikafloor®-40 BC Pronto

MULTI-PURPOSE, FLEXIBLE METHYL-METHACRYLATE RESIN FOR USE AS A PRIMER, OVERLAY OR TOPCOAT

Sikafloor®-40 BC Pronto is a methyl-methacrylate (MMA) resin for use within the Sikafloor® Pronto flooring systems. Sikafloor®-40 BC Pronto is a solvent-free, 2-component, 100% reactive resin that can be utilized as a primer, overlay, or topcoat within a flooring system. Sikafloor®-40 BC Pronto should completely seal the concrete surface resulting in a uniform satin finish. Sikafloor®-102 AP Pronto bond promoter can be utilized with Sikafloor®-40 BC Pronto as a suitable primer for metal substrate applications. Sikafloor®-101 AC Pronto accelerator should be utilized with Sikafloor®-40 BC Pronto at temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Sikafloor®-40 BC Pronto can also be mixed with Sikafloor®-100 SL Pronto to create a self-leveling formulation that reduces application time. Sikafloor®-40 BC Pronto is a transparent resin that can be pigmented using Sikafloor® PGM 155 Pronto.

Usage

Used as a primer within the following Sikafloor® Pronto flooring systems:
  • Metal substrates using the HP Bond Promoter
  Used as an overlay within the following Sikafloor® Pronto flooring systems:
  • Sikafloor Pronto RB-1841 CF
  • Sikafloor Pronto RB-1843 CQ
  • Sikafloor Pronto RB-1845 CP
  Used as a topcoat within the following Sikafloor® Pronto flooring systems:
  • Sikafloor Pronto RB-1823 CQ

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

For Best Performance

  • Please contact Technical Service for applications over 90°F (32°C)
  • Not for use in areas exposed to strong solvents (consult Sika Technical Service)
  • Install at the recommended thickness to ensure proper curing and leveling
  • Protect or remove food items prior to application to avoid any possible contamination
  • Use clean pails when mixing to avoid the possibility of improper curing
  • Proper air flow is critical to curing MMA materials. The use of fans is mandatory where airflow is restricted

Every Sikafloor Pronto flooring system is a multiple-component system that utilizes a methyl-methacrylate (MMA) resin. It is critical that the instructions listed in the Safety Data Sheet and on the product label for every component of the system be read, understood, and followed. MMA resins are flammable liquids in their uncured state. Smoking, open flames, or sparks should not be permitted during the handling of the product. Explosion-safe ventilation must be used during the application to minimize vapor collection in the installation area and to improve overall air quality for the crew. All foodstuffs must be removed during installation of the flooring system.
