Sikafloor®-41 P Pronto

LOW VISCOSITY METHYL-METHACRYLATE PRIMER FOR CONCRETE

Sikafloor®-41 P Pronto is a methyl-methacrylate (MMA) primer for use within the Sikafloor® Pronto flooring systems. Sikafloor®-41 P ProntoP is a solvent free, 2-component, 100% reactive, low viscosity primer. Sikafloor®-41 P Pronto has superior penetration and is ideal for adhesion to concrete surfaces. Sikafloor®-41 P Pronto is used with the Sikafloor®-103 IN Pronto to strengthen the curing process of the material penetrating the pores of the concrete substrate. Sikafloor®-41 P Pronto should completely seal the concrete surface resulting in a uniform satin finish. Sikafloor®-101 AC Pronto accelerator should be utilized with Sikafloor®-41 P Pronto at temperatures below 32°F (0°C).

Coverage

All coverage rates are approximate. Coverage rates will vary with the desired texture and porosity of the substrate. Typically, a batch of Sikafloor®-41 P Pronto will achieve a coverage rate of 100 ft2  (9.3 m2).
Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

For Best Performance

  • Please contact Technical Service for applications over 90°F (32°C).
  • Not for use in areas exposed to strong solvents (consult Sika Technical Service).
  • Install at the recommended thickness to ensure proper curing and leveling.
  • Protect or remove food items prior to application to avoid any possible contamination.
  • Use clean pails when mixing to avoid the possibility of improper curing.
  • Proper air flow is critical to curing MMA  materials. The use of fans is mandatory where airflow is restricted.
  • Apply a bond test every 500 – 1,000 ft2 (46.5 – 93 m2) prior to floor installation.

  • Make certain the most current versions of product data sheet and SDS are being used; visit usa.sika.com to verify the most current versions.

Every Sikafloor® Pronto flooring system is a multiple-component system that utilizes a methyl-methacrylate (MMA) resin. It is critical that the instructions listed in the Safety Data Sheet and on the product label for every component of the system be read, understood, and followed. MMA resins are flammable liquids in their uncured state. Smoking, open flames or sparks should not be permitted during the handling of the product. Explosion-safe ventilation must be used during the application to minimize vapor collection in the installation area and to improve overall air quality for the crew. All foodstuffs must be removed during installation of the flooring system.
