Sikafloor®-61 BC Pronto

INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH METHYL-METHACRYLATE RESIN FOR STANDARD AND DECORATIVE FLOORS

Sikafloor®-61 BC Pronto is a methyl-methacrylate (MMA) overlay and coating resin for use within appropriate flooring systems. Sikafloor®-61 BC Pronto is a solvent-free, 2-component, 100% reactive resin that is designed for self-leveling pigmented, decorative flake, and quartz flooring systems. Sikafloor®-61 BC Pronto should also be mixed with Sikafloor®-100 SL Pronto to create a self-leveling formulation that reduces application time. Sikafloor®-101 AC Pronto accelerator should be utilized with Sikafloor®-61 BC Pronto at temperatures between 20-32°F (-6-0°C). Sikafloor®-61 BC Pronto is a transparent resin that can be pigmented using Sikafloor® PGM 155 Pronto pigments.

Usage

Used as an overlay or coating within the following Sikafloor® Pronto flooring systems:
  • Sikafloor® Pronto RB-1820 CP
  • Sikafloor® Pronto RB-1851 CF
  • Sikafloor® Pronto RB-1853 CQ
  • Sikafloor® Pronto RB-1855 CP

Every appropriate flooring system is a multiple-component system that utilizes a methyl-methacrylate (MMA) resin. It is critical that the instructions listed in the Safety Data Sheet and on the product label for every component of the system be read, understood, and followed. MMA resins are flammable liquids in their uncured state. Smoking, open flames, or sparks should not be permitted during the handling of the product. Explosion-safe ventilation must be used during the application to minimize vapor collection in the installation area and to improve overall air quality for the crew. All foodstuffs must be removed during installation of the flooring system.

 

For Best Performance

  • Please contact Technical Service for applications over 90°F (32°C).
  • Not for use in areas exposed to strong solvents (consult Sika Technical Service).
  • Install at the recommended thickness to ensure proper curing and leveling.
  • Protect or remove food items prior to application to avoid any possible contamination.
  • Use clean pails when mixing to avoid the possibility of improper curing.
  • Proper airflow is critical to curing MMA materials. The use of fans is mandatory where airflow is restricted.
  • Apply a bond test every 500 – 1,000 ft2 (46.5 - 93 m2) prior to floor installation.
  • Sika flooring specialists are available to assist you in the selection of the proper flooring system. Call for in-house and field technical assistance.
  • Make certain the most current versions of the product data sheet and SDS are being used.
  • Proper application is the responsibility of the user.
  • Field visits by Sika personnel are for the purpose of making technical recommendations only and not for supervising or providing quality control on the jobsite.
