OUR COMMITMENT
Today, architects, designers and facility managers are facing challenges that many of them have never seen before – supply chain shortages, rising material costs and persistent labor shortages. Any of these issues can be a hurdle for anyone designing or managing a project. However, it’s now commonplace for theses professionals to design in suitable materials and practices that meet project requirements but have a reduced impact on the environment. That’s why they are turning to Sika’s Rapid Return Service Technologies.
Sika’s Rapid Return to Service Technologies are engineered to require less labor, packaging, downtime and cost to achieve the same high quality that a Sikafloor system is known for but with less environmental impact than traditional systems.
REAL WORLD EXAMPLES
Let’s look at some real-world examples.
The owners of a light manufacturing facility needed to install a new thin set epoxy floor in their 5,000 sq. ft. plant. The plant operates on a 24/7 schedule and only closes for major holidays. A traditional epoxy floor system requires 3 days to install and cure. However, a Sikafloor Fast System cuts the install and cure by 2/3 of the time while at the same time reducing labor, travel and fuel costs allowing the new system to be installed over the July 4th shut down.
standard cost assumptions

- 1 Foreman @ $240/day x 3
- 70 gallons of fuel per day**
- 3 load in/loadouts
- @ 2 hours/day
- @ 2 hours/day
$3,150 Project Cost

In another scenario a very busy bakery needed to install a new floor system that could stand up to the rigors of heavy wheeled traffic, wet processing conditions and frequent cleaning. Sika proposed using a PurCem Fast Set polyurethane mortar system that permits foot traffic in as little as two hours, rather than the three-day window of a traditional system. The overnight installation allowed the bakery to open for business the next morning – again, saving time, labor, travel and fuel costs.
Sikafloor PurCem Fast Set vs. Standard Polyurethane Slurry
In a final example a university required a durable wall coating system installed in a new laboratory facility. Using a traditional epoxy wall system, the installation could take up to 18 hours requiring 2 -3 mobilizations of manpower and equipment. A Sikagard water-based wall coating slashes that time to a mere 6 hours in a single mobilization.
