SikaTile®-815 Secure Grout is a premium, high-performance, fine aggregate, rapid-setting, polymer-modified, color consistent, and efflorescence-free grout. Specially formulated for grouting all types of ceramic and dimensional stone tiles on walls and floors, SikaTile®-815 Secure Grout is water-cleanable and easy to apply and used for joints from 1/16” (1.5 mm) to 1/2" (13 mm) in width, eliminating the need for different grout products. It features innovative Dustless Technology producing less dust than ordinary cement grouts and is designed to promote cleaner working conditions and reduce mess.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
For best results, the temperature of the substrate or tile must be between 50°F and 95°F (10°C and 35°C) while grouting. For proper curing, maintain this temperature range for 72 hours after application. Before grouting, make sure that the tiles or stones are firmly set and that the adhesive or mortar is completely dry, and remove all spacers. Grout joints must be clean and free of standing water, dust, dirt, and foreign matter. Remove excess adhesive or mortar from the joint area so that 2/3 of the tile depth is left available for grouting. Clean the tile or stone surface to remove dust, dirt, mortar, adhesive, and other contaminants that may cause grout discoloration.
MIXING
To minimize color variation when using multiple containers of the same grout, dry blend the powders prior to the addition of water. Add approximately 1.76 pints (.83 L) of cool potable water for every 10 lbs. (4.53 kg) of SikaTile®-815 Secure Grout in a clean mixing container. Add the grout to the water slowly; blend by hand or power mixer at low speed (less than 200 RPM). The ideal grout looks stiff but has a creamy consistency. Periodic mixing during use keeps the grout workable, but do not add additional water or additives. When the grout becomes dry and difficult to work, discard and make a new batch. For best results on multiple mixes, have the same person mix the grout to ensure the repetition of the mixing technique.
APPLICATION
Read all installation instructions before installation and reference ANSI A108.10-1999. Slightly moisten the tile surface with a damp grout sponge before application. Holding a rubber grout float at a 45° angle, force grout diagonally into joints ensuring joints are completely filled. Remove excess grout using the edge of the float held at a 90° angle. Cleanup can begin as soon as the grout becomes firm enough to only be slightly indented when pushed. Use as little water as possible for grout cleanup. Excess water will cause variation in color and may cause shrinkage, cracks, or pinholes. Smooth and level joints and, in a circular motion, remove excess grout from tile with a moist small-pore grout sponge. It is best to change cleaning water and rinse the sponge frequently. Using clean water and a sponge will enhance color uniformity. Remove haze from the tile surface with a soft, dry, microfiber cloth.
Final Clean Up:
After 24 hours, the grout installation can be cleaned with clean water. Cleaning with acid is not recommended.
Movement Joints:
All expansion, control, construction, cold, saw-cut, isolation, contraction, and seismic joints in the structure should continue through the tilework, including such joints at vertical surfaces, as specified per TCNA Method EJ171 or TTMAC Specification Guide 09 30 00, Detail 301MJ.
CURING TREATMENT
Do not disturb grout or walk over installed tiles for at least 24 hours after setting. Do not allow heavy traffic over installed tiles for at least 72 hours after setting. For at least three days after completion, protect from rain and freezing, and do not immerse the installation in water. For residential showers and tub surrounds, restrict use for 24 to 48 hours after grouting. For steam showers, restrict use for 14 days after grouting.

FAQ
For unsightly efflorescence to be present you must have three things: water, water-soluble minerals, and a pathway such as capillaries for the moisture to escape and leave behind the minerals. To avoid efflorescence, you need to eliminate at least one of those three components. Several SikaTile® grouts are formulated to avoid efflorescence.
When the grout has cured to the point where it will not transfer onto a finger applied to the joint, cleanup may begin. Grout must be fully cured for 21 days before regular cleaning.
High-performance grouts have increased water resistance and strength compared to traditional cement grouts.
Not all grouts require a sealer. Ready-to-use and epoxy grouts need no sealing. It is Sika's recommendation to use compatible sealer on cementitious grouts.
The word slake means to let rest with water. When mixing standard mortar or grout with water, manufacturers recommend letting the product rest before remixing to allow the polymers to wet out. This ensures that the product performs to spec. Our products with No-Slake technology are ready to apply after the initial mix.
