SikaMix® HC-300

Plasticizing Admixture

SikaMix® HC-300 is a specially formulated plasticizing admixture for drycast concrete application. SikaMix® HC-300 provides significantly improved cement dispersion. This results in increased compressive and flexural strengths, faster production rates and improved surface finish characteristics.

Usage

SikaMix® HC-300 is recommended for use in all drycast concrete applications including, concrete blocks, pavers, segmental retaining walls, pipes, hollow core slabs and other drycast elements.

Shelf Life

Shelf life when stored in dry warehouse conditions between 40 °F and 80 °F (5–27 °C) is 12 months. Protect from direct sunlight.

Storage Conditions

SikaMix® HC-300 should be stored at above 40 °F (5 °C). If frozen, thaw and agitate thoroughly to return to normal state.

Application Information

Mixing

SikaMix® HC-300 can be added with the batching water or introduced at the end of the mixing process. The concrete must be mixed for sufficient time to enable the uniform distribution of the admixture throughout the concrete. Do not introduce SikaMix® HC-300 up front, or directly onto dry cementitious materials, as this may reduce admixture performance.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

Dosage rates will vary according to materials used, ambient conditions and the requirements of the concrete. Sika recommends dosage at 2–10 fl. oz. per 100 lbs. (130–650 ml/100 kg) of cementitious materials for drycast concrete applications. Dosage rates outside the recommended range may be used where specialized materials are specified, extreme ambient conditions are encountered or unusual project conditions require special consideration.
