RAPID SETTING, POLYMER MODIFIED, CEMENT-BASED PATCHING COMPOUND
0.0 (0)
SikaLevel®-025 Patch is a fast drying, self-curing, polymer-modified, cement-based patching compound that rapidly develops high compressive strength. Use for smoothing, leveling, patching, and filling cracks, holes and voids in concrete and approved wood underlayments prior to the installation of floor coverings. From featheredge to ½” floor coverings can be installed 1 hour after application. Mix with Sika® Latex R to use as an embossing leveler or patch over properly prepared vinyl sheet goods, vinyl composition tile (VCT), cement terrazzo, and residual cutback adhesive surfaces.
- For use on concrete and plywood substrates
- Levels and smooths substrates prior to the installation of floor covering
- Ideal for patching and leveling from 1/16” to 1/2"
- Easy to prepare and quick to apply
- Fast drying, foot traffic in 30 to 60 minutes
- Repairs new and renovate old floors
- Apply over properly prepared cutback, embossed resilient vinyl floors and existing ceramic tile
- Excellent standard of finish can be achieved to allow direct application of coverings
- Mold and mildew resistant
Usage
- Skim coating unfinished, rough-textured concrete and approved wood underlayments
- Filling minor voids, holes, and cracks in concrete and approved wood underlayments
- For both interior and exterior patching and leveling from 1/16” to 1/2"
- Suitable for use with radiant heating systems
- For use with SikaBond® adhesives with solid and engineered hardwood
- Properly prepared cutback and carpet adhesive residue
- Fully bonded, properly prepared ceramic and porcelain tile
- A single layer of properly prepared, fully bonded VCT and felt-backed sheet vinyl
- Can be installed over a substrate measuring less than 98% RH and allowed to dry 18 hours prior to encapsulation
- Mix SikaLevel®-025 Patch with Sika® Latex R and use as an embossing leveler or as a patch to fill voids over properly prepared existing cement terrazzo, ceramic tile, VCT, or non-cushioned, fully adhered residential sheet vinyl flooring, cutback and carpet adhesive residues.

Chemical Base
Portland cement, selected aggregates, water retention additives, re-dispersible polymer
Shelf Life
12 months from date of production when stored in original, sealed package
Storage Conditions
Store in undamaged, original, sealed package, in dry conditions at 73⁰ F (23⁰ C)
Application
Mixing Ratio
3 quarts (2.85 liters) of clean potable water per bag
Layer Thickness
Min | Max |
1/16" (1.6 mm) | 1/2" (13 mm) |
Substrate Temperature
40 – 95 °F (4 – 35 °C)
Pot Life
10 - 20 minutes
Temperature will affect pot life:
• Above 73 °F (23 °C) will reduce the pot life and the working time
• Below 73 °F (23 °C) will extend the pot life and the working time
Final set time
30 - 60 minutes
Coverage
- 25 lb. bag will cover 25 - 30 sq.ft. at 1/8" thickness; 12.5 - 15 sq.ft. at 1/4" thickness.
MIXING
In a clean container, add approximately 3 quarts (2.85 liters) of clean potable water. Then add the contents of the 25 lb. (11.34 kg) bag of SikaLevel®-025 Patch. Mix thoroughly by hand or with a slow speed mixer (300 rpm or less) to a smooth, lump free consistency. Avoid air entrapment and prolonged mixing which will shorten pot life. Do not overwater. Mix only enough SikaLevel®-025 Patch that can be used in 20 minutes. During use, stir mix occasionally. Do not add additional water.
APPLICATION
Read all installation instructions before installation. Apply the mixed SikaLevel®-025 Patch immediately by using a flat edged trowel to force the initial coat into the substrate. Finish SikaLevel®-025 Patch to the desired thickness and smoothness. Avoid excessive heat or drafty conditions during curing period. Use water on the trowel to make the finishing of the mixture easier but do not over trowel. If material becomes too stiff to work, discard. Drying time is 30 to 60 minutes depending on ambient temperature and thickness. Any ridges or unevenness left in the patch can be scraped smooth with the clean flat edge of a trowel or sanded after a hard set.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
Clean tools and tile with water before the material dries.
FAQ
No, they are not. For standard-size tile < 15”, the substrate flatness tolerance is no more than ¼” variance in 10”. For tile > 15”, the substrate flatness tolerance is no more than 1/8” variance in 10’. This applies to any substrate whether it is a wall, floor, ceiling etc.
No. Thinset is an adhesive, not a patching or leveling compound. Thinsets are
designed to be a certain thickness and when that thickness is greater than what the thinset can handle, shrinking will occur. Use a product that is designed for patching or leveling.
Some old “cutback” black residues may contain asbestos. If the residue has asbestos, a professional will need to remove it. If the black residue does not contain asbestos, it may be removed by mechanical means such as sand blasting or grinding. Some products can encapsulate the black residue, preventing mechanical removal. Check Technical Services to find the correct products.
In most cases, flat is better than level. For example, an exterior deck needs to be flat and not level. Building codes require the deck to be pitched away from the building, which would make the deck not level. But, to install tile the deck must be flat. So, it all depends on the application.
