Apple Tantau 14

Apple Tantau 14 is one of a series of structures on the company’s campus in Cupertino, CA. A new single ply roof was in the process of being installed and the design / construction team sought a fluid applied option to protect several equipment pads. While the single ply manufacturer had a 2-part fluid applied product available for this purpose, it was available in one color which did not match the grey color of the new roof.

The Sika Liquid Applied Membranes Division offered Sikalastic RoofPro in a Pearl Grey color (one of 6 standard colors) and effectively addressed the aesthetic concern. Its single component formulation requires no mixing and generates minimal waste verses multi component offerings. With the incorporation of the Sika Fleece reinforcing fabric, a single day installation (after substrate preparation and priming) allowed the roofing contractor to meet the aggressive schedule.
