Sika® Pro-Weld™ is a groundbreaking innovation in commercial single-ply roofing that uses thermochromic ink technology for visual verification of correct seam weld temperature and speed. This industry breakthrough provides real-time feedback to assist our approved applicators in ensuring a water-tight installation.
The Pro-Weld visual indicator changes from blue to clear when the automatic welding machine is set to the correct temperature and speed for an optimum weld. If the ink doesn’t change, the applicator is visually alerted, allowing for a quick adjustment to the machine and averting a potential problem.

Pro-Weld™ Membranes
The most common cause of a roof leak on a thermoplastic (PVC or TPO) roof system is related to improper welding of the membrane seams and details. Starting in 2023, Sika® Pro-Weld™ will be added to all stocked Sikaplan® 60mil membranes. The membranes will not be a custom order, won’t have longer lead times, and won’t increase the cost.
