SikaGrind®-270

GRINDING AID

SikaGrind®-270 is a cost effective non-chloride based grinding aid for portland cement and other hydraulic cements.

SikaGrind®-270 provides the following benefits in the production of cement:   
  • Improved grinding efficiency,
  • Reduced relative energy consumption,
  • Improved production rate,
  • Improved dispersion resulting in improved separation efficiency,
  • Reduced particle fraction > 32μ in ground cement,
 
  • Improved cement particle size distribution,
  • Reduced re-agglomeration of cement particles,
  • Reduced accumulation of material on grinding equipment (grinding balls and mill),
  • Reduced issues with "plugging".
   SikaGrind®-270 provides improved flow characteristics in the finished cement resulting in the following benefits:   
  • Reduced handling costs especially on pneumatic conveyor systems,
  • Easier discharge of silos,
  • Improved self-leveling of cement in silos.

Usage

SikaGrind®-270 is a very effective dispersant providing neutralization of electrical charges resulting in separation of the cement particles.

Shelf Life

Shelf life when stored in original packaging in dry warehouse conditions between 40°F and 80°F (5-27°C) is one year from the date of manufacture.

Storage Conditions

SikaGrind®-270 should be stored above 40°F (5°C). Protect from freezing and direct sunlight.

Application

Application Information

Mixing

SikaGrind®-270 should be dispensed as received. SikaGrind®-270 must be accurately dispensed to ensure consistent results. Proper dispensing
equipment with adjustable flow rates should be used for optimum performance.

  

SikaGrind®-270 may be added onto the clinker conveyor belt or sprayed into the mills first compartment. A Sika representative is available to assist with recommendations on your mill system.

  

Note: The end of the dispensing tube/hose shall be checked and cleaned periodically to ensure it is not blocked and the proper amount of grinding aid is being added.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

The dosage rate of SikaGrind®-270 will vary based on the desired characteristics of each cement. The typical range will vary between 0.02-0.08% by weight of cement for Type IL, I & II cements and between 0.03-0.09% by weight of cement for Type III cements. Full-scale cement mill tests should be conducted to determine the required dosage for optimum performance. A trained Sika representative is available to assist in dosage calculations and mill test evaluations.
