Sika® Silbridge-400
Sika® Silbridge-400 is a pre-formed ultralow modulus elastomeric silicone seal for flashing and transition applications for weatherproofing against air and water infiltration. Sika® Silbridge-400 is usually bonded to substrates using Sikasil® WS-305 AM.

Usage
Sika® Silbridge-400 preformed silicone strips are specifically designed for a variety of applications that include, but are not limited to, the following:- Window perimeter joint seals
- Bridging between window and/or curtain wall
- Sealing air and weather barriers to adjacent curtain walls, store fronts and windows

Application
Surface Preparation
Porous surfaces must be cleaned with dry, oil free compressed air. Grinding or abrasion may be necessary to remove materials that may interfere with the Sikasil® WS-305 AM. If the substrate is cleaned with pressurized water, use caution to prevent water from entering the structure through the open joint. Ensure that all cleaning agents are completely removed and allow the substrate to adequately dry before applying the Sikasil® WS-305 AM and the Sika® Silbridge-400 strip. Make sure to follow sealant adhesion guidelines of Sikasil® WS-305 AM product data sheet. Non-porous surfaces must be cleaned with an appropriate solvent using the two-cloth method.
Application
Apply a bead of Sikasil® WS-305 AM in a straight line near the outside edge to be covered by Sika® Silbridge-400. Allow enough space for Sikasil® WS-305 AM to squeeze out to the edge of the extrusion and then stop. Depending on the uniformity of the substrate, it is recommended that a 3 mm to 6 mm (1/8 to 1/4 in) diameter bead of Sikasil® WS-305 AM be applied. Non-porous surfaces such as glass or aluminum require less Sikasil® WS-305 AM, porous substrates such as stucco or EIFS require more.
Next, unroll the appropriate length of Sika® Silbridge-400 strip and place it uniformly spaced over the joint to be sealed. To ensure uniform appearance, a flat piece of styrofoam can be used to press the extrusion firmly into place. If the application is on a smooth surface, a roller may be used to ensure a uniform wet-out of Sika® Silbridge-400 along with the Sikasil® WS-305 AM.
Clean or tool off any excess sealant adhesive from the edges of the extrusion and substrate. Trim ends and terminate with a bead of sealant.
Always apply horizontal joints before vertical joints. At intersections simply overlap the vertical Sika® Silbridge-400 strip over the horizontal and ensure a proper seal by applying enough Sikasil® WS-305 AM.
Application Limits
Sika® Silbridge-400 profile shall not be used under the following conditions:
- Below grade or below water line applications
- Joints where physical abrasion and abuse may occur, such as traffic joints
- In association with building materials that bleed oils, plasticizers or other material
- Do not coat with non-silicone-based coatings
