Depending on the condition of the substrate and thickness of application approximate coverages per bag are:

Coverage may vary due to ambient temperature, surface temperature, surface porosity, mixing methods, application methods, amount of water, wall type and metal lath type. Coverage must be verified in the field using the same procedures and conditions that will be present at the project.

• On masonry and concrete, apply only to surfaces that are sound, clean, dry, unpainted, and free of any residue which may affect the ability of LaHabra® Fastwall® 1-Coat Sanded Stucco Base to bond to the surface.
• Solid bases shall have sufficient suction (ability to absorb water) or surface roughness or both to ensure an adequate bond for LaHabra® Fastwall® 1-Coat Sanded Stucco Base. 
• On lathed construction, apply to lathing installed in accordance with ASTM C1063.
• Fastwall 1-Coat requires a water-resistive barrier to be installed and flashed in accordance with building codes and to form a water-shedding surface. Stucco is not a water-resistive barrier.
• Install water-resistive barrier (type and method of application) per Parex USA Stucco Application Guide or Specifications.
• Do not apply to substrates which are frozen or contain frost or ice.

Use clean equipment for mixing and preparation.

Mixing ratio: approx. 1.5 gal (5.6 L) water per 80 lb. (36 kg.) bag.

1. Add about 90% of the needed water into the mixer, then add the Fastwall 1-Coat.
2. When the mixture becomes homogenous, add the remaining water. Mix at a low speed for a minimum of 3 minutes, until the mixture is smooth. 

DO NOT overmix; never mix more than 5 minutes. Mix each batch for the same amount of time. Mix batches of the same size, using the same amount of water, to esure consistency. Use cool, potable water, let hose run to clear it is hot water. 

Use the material immerdiately after mixing. DO NOT retemper LaHabra® Fastwall® 1-Coat Sanded Stucco Base.

1. Thoroughly dampen concrete and masonry substrate if necessary before applying LaHabra® Fastwall® 1-Coat Sanded Stucco Base.
2. Apply by hand trowel or plaster gun to a minimum 3/8 in. (9.5 mm) thickness. The maximum thickness applied in one pass should be 1/2 in. (12.7 mm).
3. Level the surface directly after application or score the surface of the un-set plaster to provide a key for a subsequent coat. If applying material at a thickness greater than 1/2” or for large ceiling areas apply a second coat after allowing the first coat to dry. 

If additional coats are not applied the same day, moisten the dry LaHabra® Fastwall® 1-Coat Sanded Stucco Base as necessary before applying second coat. 

• Keep stucco basecoat moist by fogging walls with water for the first 24-48 hours after initial hardening. Moist curing must be increased in dry weather and may be reduced in damp weather. Moist curing replaces mix water lost to evaporation and absorption. It improves hydration for strength and reduces volume-loss stresses. Insufficient moist curing can be a cause of cracking. Beyond 24 hours, additional moist and dry curing may also be needed to provide sufficient strength to the basecoat to resist the pressure of finish coat application.
• After moist curing, allow the stucco basecoat to air dry.
• For Portland cement-based stucco finish, lightly moisten the surface of LaHabra® Fastwall® 1-Coat Sanded Stucco Base before application.
