Sikalastic®-500 Accelerator is a single component accelerating agent for Sikalastic®-500 silicone coating. It enhaces the moisture curing characteristics that accelerates the cure time.

Storage Conditions

The product must be stored properly in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between 40 °F  and 95 °F. Higher storage temperatures may reduce shelf life of product.

Reference shall also be made to the storage recommendations within the safety data sheet.

Application

Application steps

MIXING

Add accelerator to Sikalastic®-500 at a rate of 1 can per 5 gal. pail. Use mechanical mixer and Jiffy Paddle at slow speed (300–600 rpm) and thoroughly mix until a homogenous mixture and uniform color is obtained (typically 3 minutes). Use care not to allow the entrapment of air into the mixture. Sikalastic®-500 Accelerator is packaged with nitrogen to keep latent moisture from prematurely starting the curing process. After opening and catalyzing the Sikalastic®-500 Accelerator it becomes much more sensitive to moisture and the entire container must be used in a relatively short period of time.
