The Engineer of Record has used Sikalastic RoofPro around the University successfully in the past and reached out to Sika to see if RoofPro could meet the challenge again. The gutters on one of the buildings were in need of repairs and the best access to the gutters was by a cherry picker. Sikalastic-641 Lo-VOC was chosen for its mobility and versatility. Sikalastic RoofPro products come in 5 gallon pails and can be applied in tight or hard to access places, and are able to waterproof multiple substrates including the metal and EPDM seen on this project. The EPDM was first repaired with patches of new EPDM but this created many seams within the gutter. Sikalastic RoofPro systems are liquid applied and therefore cure to a seamless yet fully reinforced waterproofing system.

PROJECT SOLUTION

The gutters of this University building are now leak free with a 20-year warranty and we hope to provide more solutions to any other items that arise in the future.
