Ontario, Oregon

186 East Lane is a privately owned building in Ontario, Oregon leased to the Oregon Department of Health and Welfare. During the winter of 2016/2017 the building was experiencing multiple leaks due to snow removal. The Ontario area had received record snowfall and snow removal is critical to prevent roof collapse.

The existing 49,000 square foot roof was waterproofed with an EPDM roof membrane. Localized damage from snow shovels and removal equipment was identified and patched with Sika Joint Tape SA, a self-adhered reinforcing fabric, and coated with Sikalastic-621 TC. The surface was then pressure washed to provide a clean, sound substrate to receive the Sikalastic-621 TC RoofPro System. All seams of the existing EPDM membrane were locally reinforced with 6-inch Sika Joint Tape SA before the fully reinforced RoofPro membrane system was installed over the entire roof.

The fully reinforced, fluid applied RoofPro membrane system was chosen for its ease of application and ability to go over the existing EPDM Roof membranes and thus for the limited disturbance to the building occupants.

The Sikalastic RoofPro System has now protected the building below for 3 years and the owners are very happy with their choice to go with Sika and enjoy the peace of mind and performance the Sikalastic RooPro products provide.
