Base Sheet NB 120 SBS modified fiberglass venting base sheet

Base Sheet NB 120 is a 120 mil (3.1 mm) thick SBS modified fiberglass venting base sheet for use within Sarnafil® hybrid roofing systems.

  • Sanded surface accepts hot asphalt for Sika’s ply sheet attachment
  • Granular underside with an embossed venting pattern to allow vapor to move under the base sheet when mechanically fastened to approved substrates

Usage

Venting base sheet within Sarnafil® hybrid roofing systems.

Application

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Surface must be clean, smooth, sound, dry, and free of loose materials, debris or contaminants.  Light weight insulating concrete shall conform to the manufacturer’s and building code requirements for suitability of the deck and for the climatic zone location of the installation.

APPLICATION

Unroll Base Sheet NB 120 and allow it to relax.  Mechanically fasten Base Sheet NB 120 to the deck with approved fasteners and plates at a rate according to Sika's recommendations for fastening rates and patterns.

Apply uniform tension to Base Sheet NB 120 and begin fastening at the center of the sheet.  Work toward the end laps pushing out all wrinkles and buckles.

Install fasteners in accordance with fastener manufacturer's recommendations.

Overlap side laps 3" (76 mm) and end laps 6" (152 mm).
