Sarnafiller
Sarnafiller is a two-component urethane pourable sealant used as a pitch pocket filler within Sarnafil® and Sikaplan® roofing systems. It is also used as an adhesive to bond Sarnafil® G 459 grid strip flashing membrane to concrete and masonry surfaces in Sarnafil® waterproofing applications.
- Cures to a tough rubber mass when properly mixed
- Excellent adhesion and low temperature elasticity properties
- Will not flow or creep in elevated temperatures
- Does not contain solvents, asphalt or coal tar

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
All surfaces should be clean, sound, dry, and free of all bond breaking contaminants such as rust, oil, wax and grease. Wipe all new metal with Sika’s Seam Cleaner, acetone, or rubbing alcohol before applying Sarnafiller. Do not use mineral spirits as a cleaner.
MIXING
Mix Part A and Part B with a drill and mixing paddle for a minimum of 5 minutes making sure the material is a uniform black color.
APPLICATION
Pitch Pocket Filler:
Pour the mixed Sarnafiller into the pitch pocket and tool with a paint stirrer to work out any entrapped air. There must be a minimum of 2" (51 mm) between the sides of the pitch pocket and the penetration to allow Sarnafiller to adequately fill the area. Fill the pitch pocket completely to prevent water from collecting within the pitch pocket. Refer to Sika – Roofing details.
Sarnafil® G 459 Grid Strip Flashing:
Chalk lines onto the substrate 12" (305 mm) wide to identify the location of the grid strips. Prime the back of the Sarnafil® G 459 grid strip flashing membrane with Sikaflex® Primer 449. Do not apply primer where the Sarnafil® G 459 grid strip flashing membrane will be welded together at the overlaps. Pour the mixed Sarnafiller onto the substrate between the chalk lines. Spread Sarnafiller with a 1/4" x 1/4" (6.4 mm x 6.4 mm) square notched trowel and completely cover the area between the chalk lines. Immediately set the Sarnafil® G 459 grid strip flashing membrane into Sarnafiller and thoroughly roll-in with a hand roller. Be sure that a small amount of Sarnafiller extends out from the edge of the Sarnafil® G 459 grid strip flashing membrane to ensure 100 % coverage.
For vertical Sarnafil G 459 grid strip flashing membrane installations, use Sikaflex®-11FC as the Sarnafil G 459 grid strip flashing membrane adhesive. Refer to the Sikaflex®-11FC product data sheet.
