Finally, a Reliable, Fully- Integrated Photovoltaic System

The Sika SolaRoof is a comprehensive, integrated solution incorporating the proven performance of Sarnafil roof assemblies with the Sika SolarMount-1 - an innovative, non-penetrating, engineered solution for long-term securement of solar rooftop photovoltaic.

Sika SolarMount-1 is a lightweight, aerodynamic mounting system for the installation of rigid PV panels on low slope Sarnafil thermoplastic roofs.

The Sika SolaRoof not only offers a proprietary method of attachment with the Sika SolarMount-1 mounting system, but it can be covered by a single-source warranty for up to 20 years as well.

Another benefit of the Sika SolarMount-1 is its versatility. The SSM1 can be assembled in a variety of configurations, in either South or East-West orientations.

Sika Roofing Provides Proven Performance and Unparalleled Expertise

Selecting the right partner is essential for a successful, sustainable investment in rooftop photovoltaic installation. Extensive experience in the installation of roofing membranes, proven expertise in PV, and a long-lasting roofing membrane make Sika the right choice when long-term solutions are what you desire.

Actual performance in the field over time is the only true test of a roofing system’s quality. Over the past 50+ years, billions of square feet of Sarnafil membrane have performed with distinction. Along with protection from the elements, Sarnafil’s versatile single-ply membrane systems also boast sustainability features like unparalleled longevity, outstanding energy efficiency, and minimal maintenance. Sarnafil membranes are the only products to have achieved a Platinum rating according to the NSF/ANSI 347 sustainability assessment for single-ply roofing membranes.

Investing in a Sika SolaRoof system will be a decision that rewards you with peace of mind, reliability, energy savings, and the highest standard of quality - a claim that has been proven against the test of time.

Sika SolarMount-1

The SolarMount-1 is welded to the membrane, which means ballast is typically not required. This makes the system ideal for most lightweight roof structures.

While many other products use rails installed directly on the membrane, which might hamper the flow of water, the SSM1does not require connecting rows with each other.

The SSM1 can be installed quickly and simply, meaning lower construction costs.

No-slip sheets are required with the system.

The horizontal rails on the SSM1 limit bending to avoid PV panel microcracking from wind, snow, and other forms of loading.

Sika SolarClick

The key component of the SolarMount-1 is the Sika SolarClick welding flange. The SolarClicks, which are made with the same formulation as Sarnafil membranes to avoid compatibility issues, are mounted to each support. They provide a large contact area, critical for uniform load distribution in order to reduce compression loads on the thermal insulation. This, in turn, reduces ponding water.

Installation of the Sika SolaRoof system does not require any roof membrane penetrations, eliminating potential leakage points and reducing maintenance. Instead, the SolarClicks are welded directly to the membrane using standard hot-air welding equipment. This removes the potential for roof damage due to lateral movement that can occur in ballasted systems relying on friction.

Tried and Tested

The Sika SolaRoof has been tested and successfully meets the criteria for asymmetric Class A spread of flame testing for low slope design of the mounting system on Sarnafil membrane in accordance with UL 1703.

Sika SolaRoof® is the Complete PV Solution
TRADITIONAL RACKING SYSTEM IS: SIKA SOLAROOF IS:
Piecemeal: roofing membrane and PV racking system sold separately Comprehensive: Sarnafil membrane and Sika SolarMount-1 sold together as one integrated system
Invasive: traditional racking systems typically require penetrating the roofing membrane Non-penetrating: thanks to the Sika SolarClick welding flange, there are no potential leakage points
Hazardous: since they are not welded directly to the roofing membrane, many racking systems have the potential to cause rooftop damage due to lateral movement Stable: the Sika SolarMount-1 is secured directly to the roofing membrane, eliminating the potential for damage
Heavy: most racking systems require a ballast for securement, increasing load on the roof Lightweight: ballast is typically not required, making the system ideal for lightweight roof structures
Risky: potential for compatibility issues between racking system components and roofing membrane Trustworthy: incorporates the proven performance of Sarnafil roof assemblies with the innovative Sika SolarMount-1 for long term securement
Complicated: separate warranties are typically required for the roofing membrane and the racking system Simple: the entire Sika SolaRoof system is eligible for Sika’s single-source warranty up to 20 years
