Application
Ambient Air Temperature
Can be applied at any temperature provided the product temperature is between 65°F (18°C) to 85°F (29°C) 24 hours prior to use
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease, oil, or other contaminants or particulates. All concrete surfaces must be cured prior to applying Sarnacol®-2163 Adhesive.
APPLICATION
Use the handheld cartridge applicator. Remove the plastic plugs from the cartridge mixing head. Attach a mixing tip to the threaded mixing head. Place the cartridge into the applicator. When starting a new cartridge, dispense some adhesive into a bucket or other suitable receptacle to achieve a proper mix.
Apply Sarnacol®-2163 Adhesive directly to the substrate using a ribbon pattern. Apply adhesive in ¼ – ½'' (6 – 13 mm) wide wet beads. Ribbon spacing will depend on the wind uplift rating required.
As adhesive is applied, immediately place boards into wet adhesive. Walk boards in, ballast if necessary to achieve proper contact with substrate.
Unused adhesive can be applied at a later date by simply replacing the mixing tip.
COVERAGE
Application rates vary depending on surface roughness and absorption rate of the substrate. Typical coverage rate when using the 1.5 L cartridges is approximately 600 ft2 (56 m2) per case. Rates are based on an application pattern of 4 ribbons, ¼ – ½" (6 – 13 mm) beads, 12'' (30 cm) o.c. per 4 ft x 4 ft (1.2 m x 1.2 m) insulation board.
