Store canisters between 60°F (16°C) and 90°F (32°C). Do not store in direct sunlight. Protect from freezing at all times. Store boxes with valve side up.

Remove the adhesive canisters from the boxes, place the canisters on a firm and level surface and rock the canister 20-30 times to insure the material is properly mixed. Return the canisters to their appropriate boxes. Locate and remove the knock outs for hose access. Always insure that the Part A and Part B containers are always hooked to the same dispensing holders or hoses (i.e. do not reverse the dispenser holders and hoses between Part A and Part B). All valves on the dispensing unit must be completely opened so a 1:1 ratio is achieved when moving the adhesive through the disposable mix tip and onto the substrate in a semi-liquid state. When starting a new box set, dispense some adhesive into a bucket or other suitable receptacle to achieve a proper mix.

All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease, oil, or other contaminants or particulates. All concrete surfaces must be cured prior to applying Sarnacol® AD Adhesive.

Ribbon Application:

Hold the applicator approximately 12-18 inches above to substrate. Apply adhesive in 1" (25 mm) to 1.5" (38 mm) wide wet beads in a ribbon pattern. Ribbon spacing will depend on the wind uplift rating required. Allow the adhesive to begin rising and place insulation, cover board or membrane into the adhesive before the adhesive has skinned over. Walk boards in, ballast if necessary to eliminate uneven surfaces and ensure positive contact between the boards, adhesive and substrate. Roll the membrane with a minimum 75 lb (34 kg) steel roller to ensure positive contact between the membrane, adhesive and substrate.

Spatter Application:

Remove static mixer from bag and remove red plug from the inlet of the static mixer. Inspect to ensure rubber gasket is present inside the inlet. Attach the static mixer to the applicator and twist 1/4 turn clockwise. Rotate static mixer so that the outlet fan is in a vertical position for spatter application (see image to the right). When ready to apply, hold the applicator approximately 18-24 inches above to application surface and fully engage the trigger to begin. Maintaining that height, move the applicator side to side in a sweeping motion applying the adhesive to the substrate. Proper coverage should cover the substrate between 60-80%. As more adhesive is applied, it may be necessary to slow the walking pace slightly to maintain the proper 80% coverage. Allow the adhesive to rise slightly before rolling the membrane into the adhesive, then roll with a weighted roller to ensure proper contact between the adhesive and the membrane. Do not allow the adhesive to skin over. Unused adhesive can be applied at a later date by replacing the applicator.
