2025 Roofing & Waterproofing Projects of the Year

Sika is proud to announce the winners of the 2025 Roofing & Waterproofing Projects of the Year competition, celebrating Sika’s approved applicators across the U.S. who demonstrate outstanding craftsmanship, innovation, and commitment to excellence.

Each year, projects are evaluated for design complexity, technical execution, aesthetics, and the creative use of Sika’s roofing and waterproofing systems. This year’s awards were given in the following categories: Low Slope – New Construction, Low Slope – Re-Roof, Steep Slope,  Waterproofing, and Sustainability.

Below are the projects selected as the 2025 Projects of the Year.

Low Slope - New Construction

The California Science Center – Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center project in Los Angeles, California, completed by Letner Roofing Company, features a self-adhered Sarnafil membrane, a Sikaplan membrane, a Sikalastic 641 liquid-applied membrane, and a Sarnafil Décor Roof system.

Cotterman and Company used a Sarnafil Adhered system to cover the 240,000-square-foot QTS NAL 1 DC1 building in New Albany, Ohio.

Low Slope - Re-Roof

Commonwealth Building Systems re-roofed 500 Boylston in Boston, Massachusetts, with Sarnafil membranes in white and lead gray to maintain the building’s signature feature – a meticulously crafted checkerboard roof.

Hayden Building Maintenance Corp. used a Sikaplan system to re-roof Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia, New York.

DG Roofing, LLC. installed a torch-applied SikaShield modified bitumen system over the approximately 30,000 square feet of roofing that covers Carl Schurz Elementary School in New Braunfels, Texas. 

The iconic Hess Tower wind turbine building in Houston, Texas, was re-roofed by J. Reynolds & Co., a Tecta America Company, with a Sarnafil Adhered system.

BEST Contracting Services, Inc. used mechanically fastened and adhered Sarnafil systems across the 3,636 square feet of varied roof structures of LAUSD Narbonne High School in Harbor City, California. 

L. Marshall Roofing & Sheet Metal completed the Mitchell International Airport – Concourse D project in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a Sarnafil Adhered system and Sikalastic liquid-applied membrane to create seamless, watertight flashing connections.

Tri-State Commercial Roofing Corp. utilized Sarnafil roofing systems to upgrade the roofs across Stryker Corporation’s 38-acre campus in Mahwah, New Jersey. 

Steep Slope

The Pittsburgh Terminal Modernization Project and Multimodal Complex project in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was completed by Phoenix Roofing with Sika’s Sarnafil and Sikaplan systems. 

Silktown Roofing Inc. utilized a Sarnafil Décor Roof System to replace the roof of the Solnit Children’s Center in Middletown, Connecticut. 

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center roof replacement in Washington, D.C., installed by Patuxent Roofing & Contracting, features a Sarnafil roofing system.

Waterproofing

Ozark Green Roofs incorporated a Monolithic Membrane 6125 waterproofing system when installing an ambitious green roof system atop the Alice Walton School of Medicine in Bentonville, Arkansas. 

Utah Tile & Roofing continued its partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah, delivering a high-performance solution with Hydrotech’s Monolithic Membrane 6125 for the church office plaza renovation. 

Francis M. Leahy Elementary School in Lawrence, Massachusetts, now features a Hydrotech-protected play area as well as a Sarnafil Adhered system on its new rooftop, thanks to Greenwood Industries.

Roofing Solutions LLC. showcased its expertise, waterproofing Lady of the Sea Hospital in Cut Off, Louisiana, with a Sikalastic roofing system. 

Heritage Restoration installed over 100,000 square feet of Hydrotech Monolithic Membrane 6125 on the South Station Tower project in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Eagle Restoration & Contracting, Inc., utilized a Sikalastic waterproofing system to deliver longterm protection to the Wilkes Passage Condominiums in Boston, Massachusetts.
