Just last month, Texas saw an impressive collection of knowledge and roofing experience gathered in one location. Sika Sarnafil’s National Technical Meeting took place on January 21st as seventy United States and Canadian employees came together for a two-and-a-half-day event covering a business review, new product workshops, and training.

The opening night dinner attendants collectively boasted more than 800 years of combined Sarnafil experience. Together, employees celebrated this technical expertise as one of the company’s most important advantages within the commercial roofing market place and recognized the employees who have so readily contributed to this strength.

Respectively, the Technical Employee of the Year Award went to Paul Peterson for 2018 and David Bighaus for 2019, honoring their company loyalty, superior teamwork, and exceptional competency. Paul Peterson was recognized for more than 33 years of commitment to new product development, country-wide troubleshooting, and exceptional field support for Sarnafil. David Bighaus was recognized for his dedicated service since 2007 as an enthusiastic and positive employee who consistently goes well above and beyond the call of duty.

The dinner went on to recognize a number of service milestones and company promotions, including those of Sezair Destani, now Regional Technical Manager in the East Region, and Michael Darsch, Technical Services Manager.

Brian Whelan, Executive Vice President for Roofing and Flooring, was also present to give an update on the company’s success in 2019 and the exciting plans for 2020 and beyond, setting the course for more opportunities for Sika Sarnafil and its employees to grow and aspire towards.

The next few days included hands-on workshops, training sessions, and presentations. Most importantly, it allowed our technical staff to share and benefit from each other’s experiences and best practices. This further enhances the industry-leading level of service they provide our customers on a daily basis. All in all, the meeting was a noteworthy success – one we know has strengthened and inspired our technical team for this new year of working together.
