EMSEAL RoofJoint authorized for use with Sika’s Sarnafil® and Sikaplan®
roofing and waterproofing systems.
Sika Corporation – Roofing has approved the use of EMSEAL RoofJoint with Sika’s Sarnafil® and Sikaplan® roofing and waterproofing systems.
RoofJoint is a patented dual-seal, double-flanged, extruded nitrile PVC (NPVC) alloy system for sealing expansion joints in roofs, plaza assemblies and green roofs. Watertightness is achieved through positive integration with the roofing membrane and a purpose-designed system for transitioning between the joint in the roof and joints in walls.
RoofJoint incorporates a double-level flange that allows multi-layered, watertight integration with the roofing membrane. The lower flange is hot-air welded to the roof membrane alongside the joint opening. Termination bar and anchors are installed (included with the system) locking the flange to the roof decking or blocking. The upper flange counterflashes the termination bar and underlying membrane ensuring that penetrations made by the attachment of the termination bar are completely sealed. The upper flange is hotair welded to the Sarnafil or Sikaplan membrane to complete the watertight detail. Please see the details below.
The continuity of seal is critical in the performance of the expansion joint. Emseal offers factory-fabricated transitions pieces and closures to accommodate the most difficult details.
The Emseal RoofJoint expansion joint is eligible for inclusion in the Sika System warranty for up to 20 years.
