Helping at All Dorchester Sports and Leadership continues Sika's relationship with Rebuilding Together Boston
Working with Rebuilding Together Boston, local Sika Roofing and Emseal employees volunteered their time on October 8th, to update the All Dorchester Sports and Leadership (ADSL) facility in Boston.
ADSL originally founded in 1983, was created to offer local youth from an ethnically and racially diverse neighborhood, a place to work together rather than against each other. Overtime as needs changed, ADSL has also improved their offerings. ADSL now offers an education resource center, fitness, and nutrition education programs to over 800 students.
Sika employees worked together to rebuild 10 raised flower beds and a large compost bin that will be used by the students as a part of their nutrition education program. Inside the facility, employees repainted a large floor mural to freshen up the office space. Lastly, Sika helped clean out various office spaces allowing more sports equipment to be stored inside the facility.
Community service events like this one serve as a reminder of the sustainable initiatives Sika strives for while allowing team members to give back to their local community. These events allow for a continued relationship between Sika and Rebuilding Together, who have partnered on multiple service projects, including Community Service Day events during the International Roofing Expo and with the local Boston chapter on other projects. Rebuilding Together is a national organization that collaborates with local community members and leaders to revitalize communities. At Sika, we go “Beyond the Expected.”
