Twenty Contractors Honored for Outstanding Workmanship

One Congress Tower in Boston

Sika Roofing, a worldwide market leader in resilient and sustainable roofing and waterproofing solutions for non-residential construction projects,  recognized 20 contractors as the winners of the 2023 Projects of the Year Awards. Applicators across the country received awards in four categories:  Low Slope – New Construction, Low Slope – Re-Roofing, Steep Slope, and Waterproofing.

LOW SLOPE – NEW CONSTRUCTION

Cotterman and Company of Columbus, Ohio, won for installing a Sarnafil roofing system featuring an 80 mil Sarnafil G 410 EnergySmart membrane  on the new Amgen Chimera building in New Albany, Ohio. Eberhard Southwest Roofing Inc. of Las Vegas's installation of 321,000 square feet of  Sikaplan® Fastened-60 EnergySmart and 14,200 square feet of Sarnafil® G 410-60 mil self-adhered membrane on Las Vegas's Durango Station  Resort netted them a win. Commonwealth Building Systems of Rockland, Massachusetts, installed a Sarnafil Adhered System and Sarnafil Decor System to One Congress Tower, the new, forty-six-story office tower in Boston. Red Pointe Roofing of Orange, California, won for installing a Sarnafil  Energy Smart System on the Sunset Glenoaks Studios of Sun Valley, California. Installing a Sarnafil EnergySmart system on the Valleywise Health  Acute Care Hospital in Phoenix led to Star Roofing winning an award.

LOW SLOPE - RE-ROOF

CFE, Inc. of Elmira, New York, installed a Sikaplan EnergySmart system over two critical buildings at the Cargill beef processing facility in Friona,  Texas. Best Contracting Services, Inc. of Gardena, California, won for the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles re-roofing project featuring Sarnafil  and Sikaplan systems. Hayden Building Maintenance Corporation of West Nyack, New York, helped bring Brooklyn, New York's Paramount  Theatre back to life with a Sarnafil EnergySmart system. Thanks to Sutter Roofing of Sarasota, Florida, Hudson High School in Hudson, Florida, has a vented roof assembly by WindSmart® featuring a Sarnafil EnergySmart membrane.

STEEP SLOPE

Prime Roofing Corp. of New Ipswich, New Hampshire, won for installing a Sikalastic RoofPro system on the First United Church of Gilford, New Hampshire. LeFrak Gymnasium at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts, features a new Sarnafil Self-Adhered system thanks to Supreme
Roofing of Chicopee, Massachusetts
. Robison Roofing of Blackfoot, Idaho, won for installing Sarnafil EnergySmart and RhindoBond systems at Idaho State University's Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho. Insulated Roofing Contractors of New Albany, Indiana, was recognized for the new  Sarnafil Decor Roof system at North Laurel Middle School.

WATERPROOFING

Prospect Waterproofing Company of Sterling, Virginia, provided the Smithsonian Institution's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden with a  new American Hydrotech Monolithic Membrane 6125 roofing system. L.S. Decker Inc. of Houston won for installing an American Hydrotech  Monolithic Membrane 6125 roofing system on the Block 250 project, a new 29-story office building in downtown Houston. The Atlantic Ocean  Club Condominium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, features a brand new Sikalastic RoofPro roofing system thanks to Concrete Protection and  Restoration LLC of Oakland Park, Florida. Cahill Contracting of North Charleston, South Carolina, and Cooper River Contracting of Charleston,  South Carolina, teamed up to install a Sikalastic RoofPro system on the Oaks at Riverside North on Daniel Island, South Carolina. Sterling  Commercial Roofing of Sterling, Illinois, won for installing Sarnafil EnergySmart roofing systems on the Modern Woodmen of America  Headquarters on Rock Island, Illinois. The Douglass Colony Group of Commerce City, Colorado, installed an American Hydrotech Monolithic  Membrane 6125 system on the roof of One River North in Denver. 

Contractors nationwide submitted entries to Sika Roofing for evaluation in the annual Projects of the Year competition. All winners were  awarded cash prizes, a trophy, recognition at an awards celebration at the International Roofing Expo, and marketing support through advertisements, social media, and public relations.
